Carmarthen Bay Film Festival 2022

In Affairs of the Art, director Joanna Quinn & producer/screenwriter Les Mills continue the series of beloved, hilarious and award-winning animated films starring Beryl, the Welsh 59-year-old factory worker who’s obsessed with drawing and determined to become a hyper-futurist artiste. We also meet her grown son, Colin, a techno geek, her husband Ifor, now Beryl’s model and muse, and her sister Beverly a fanatical narcissist living in Los Angeles. Affairs of the Art provides glimpses into Beryl, Beverly and Colin’s peculiar childhoods and we see that obsession is in this family’s DNA.

Affairs of the Art

We meet Ditto, a fluffy plump and sleepy white cat. However, the universe seems out to get her as she tries to find the most comfortable spot to take her nap. She finally falls upon the most wonderful warm yellow cushion she's ever pounced upon. No spot has ever been so comfortable. But little does she know a fuzzy winged intruder, Monty, has his eye on it too. Monty is by no way bashful in disturbing Ditto's slumber. He is inherently attracted to warm bright spots, but you'd think he'd stay loyal to the all-seeing light in the sky...but that cushion is so goddamn comfy! Monty will go to any lengths to knock Ditto from that comfy spot, but at what consequence?

Cat and Moth

A single mother struggles to balance between providing for her daughter and pursuing her dream of being on the big screen. After countless rejections, she will go on one last audition to determine her fate as an actress.

Departure

Garden Shark breaks through the hopelessness and loss of a dementia diagnosis by giving people living with dementia and their caregivers a new way to connect and find joy. It explores improv’s ability to teach people to live in the moment, communicate, and learn to laugh in spite of their struggles. Garden Shark highlights couples’ individual experiences and shows how beautifully partners living with dementia respond to the risk free, playful and hilarious environment created by Inside Out Theatre’s Village Improv for Alzheimer’s program.
