Run Outs Run Outs

Run Outs

Run Outs is a psychologically rich short film from writer-director Dhillon Shukla, commissioned by BFI Network and supported by Warner Bros. Studios.

Set in inner-city London, the film stars BAFTA-nominee Jairaj Varsani as Rowan, a quiet teen whose childhood game with friends spirals into something far darker. When the boys make an unexpected discovery, it fractures their bond and begins to unravel Rowan’s grip on reality.

A subtle, emotionally charged portrait of youth, masculinity, and identity, Run Outs reframes multicultural London through an elegantly haunting lens, blurring the line between memory, fear and friendship.

To Fly or Float

Birmingham, 1979. Following a family tragedy, orphaned Eva moves in with her father's estranged brother. David is steeped in tradition and unprepared for a child, whilst Eva buries her grief in daydreams. Their distance feels unbridgeable - until a new friendship leads Eva to build a kite to send a message up to her parents. As the kite takes shape, so too does the bond between Eva and David: she brings light into his world, while he introduces her to the grounding rhythm of Jewish ritual. To Fly or Float is a tender story of childhood loss, faith, and the shared language we find when words fall short.
