Waiting for Burton
The Last Wild Place
Holyhead is one of the poorest towns in Wales and has no significant area of green space except for Penrhos Nature Reserve: a much loved 200 acre woodland and park that runs along unspoilt coastline and provides a place of wonder and solace for local people.
This beautiful natural landscape has been sold to developers who plan to build a 'leisure village' on the reserve, destroying much of the woodland and privatising this beloved public space.
Three local women are fighting back.
This film follows them as their legal case against Anglesey County Council and corporate developer Land & Lakes reaches a critical point.
Everything is on the line as a 14 year campaign reaches a decisive moment in deciding the fate of Penrhos Nature Reserve.
